Description
The newly built 4 star Draaihoek Lodge, is situated in the Western Cape south of Elandsbaai within the Sandveld coastal area of the West Coast region about 170 km north of Cape Town. Draaihoek Lodge is nestled along the Atlantic Ocean and is the ideal place to combine relaxing beach life with adventurous nature drives. Draaihoek Nature Reserve reaches from the Ocean to the mountains and up to the Verloren Vlei, a RAMSAR site, which is without a doubt a treasure in the Sandveld of South Africa’s West Coast.
The coastal area forms part of the longest relatively undisturbed portion of sandy beach along the West Coast, a bird watching paradise with a wilderness ambiance.
The favourable climate, the essentially unspoiled Fynbos vegetation with its colourful display of spring flowers, the open vistas, expansive white beaches,
the world renowned Verlorenvlei wetland habitat and the San Rock Art in caves overlooking Verlorenvlei make Draaihoek Lodge and Reserve the place to explore.
The vegetation, is particularly species rich, being a transition area between the Cape Peninsula and Namaqua Floral Kingdoms. Annual spring flowers provide a splendid spectacular not to be missed.
The Draaihoek Lodge is a luxurious resort in a unique ecological oasis which is home to an incredible variety of wildlife and plant species. Whether you are looking for some unique spring flowers, endless beachwalks in company of seals, whales and dolphins, magnificent sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean, game drives through the reserve, prehistoric rock art or just want to relax in the most luxurious way ... Draaihoek Lodge has it all!
We would love to welcome you at Draaihoek Lodge and share this beautiful experience with you.
